I’M JAM.

I’m a Vancouver-based digital painter with the goal of using art to build worlds others get lost in, or can use to find themselves.

As a part-time shapeshifter, I'm happy to wear any number of hats to fit whatever a project requires and get the job done well. I love to throw spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks and trying to find a new perspective on the world around me (even if it's covered in spaghetti).

Creating assets through a combination of illustration and photo-bashing for use across various projects, and providing artwork and design to help communicate the expansion of the established narrative universe.

Responsibilities include: asset creation, character design, prop design, environment design, concept development, key/marketing art, graphic design, photo-bashing, photo editing, and prepping files for animation.

Notable Projects: Future Chicken Today Show, Future Chicken Youtube Shorts, Future Chicken Podcast, Future Chicken Youtube Series.

+ The Sequence Group — Junior Artist

February-April 2023

Assisted with a variety of projects including motion comics, 3D animation and motion design as a part of my student practicum.

Responsibilities included: asset creation, paint-overs, storyboard revisions, separation of artwork and prepping files for animation.

Notable projects: Apex Legends Official Ballistic Trailer (Stories from the Outlands), Magic the Gathering: Lord of the Rings Card Announcement Animations, New World In-Game Cinematics.

+ Unannounced PC Game, Team Saikou — Game Asset Artist/Concept Artist

August 2023-February 2024

Creating 2D game assets including illustration and UI, creating concepts for characters and props, and matching the style set by the Art Director.

Responsibilities included: asset creation, art revisions, concept development and iteration, and the separation of artwork for animation.

+ Freelance Illustrator

2019-Present

Working with clients on a variety of independent illustration projects in order to achieve their vision.

Responsibilities include: Creating and managing deadlines, interviewing and communicating with the client(s), creating moodboards, creation of concepts, sketches and final illustrations, file management and packaging for delivery, and invoicing.

Notable clients: the City of Langley.

+ BC Game Jam — Game Artist

September 2022

An on-call artist participating in BC Game Jam as a part of Pixel Route.

Responsible for the in-game illustrated assets for the theme-park management game: Splash Lake Waterpark.

+ Capilano Courier Illustrator

2019-2022

On-call illustrator for the Capilano University student-run magazine.

Responsibilities included: creation of illustrations for various print uses including spots, half-page and full page spreads, as well as providing artwork for gallery features, and writing for editorial.
